Acne Myths Busted by Canadian Online Pharmacy

There are so many myths surrounding acne, and this article from Big Mountain Drugs, a leading Canadian online pharmacy, is here to help and bust those myths. Big Mountain Drugs offer Canada RX and OTC drugs to help combat acne, and this article has been put together to keep you better informed about acne.

Acne Is Related To Diet

This is totally and utterly incorrect. There have been many studies undertaken to check out this myth and all have shown that there is no correlation between diet and acne. This myth comes from the knowledge that sugary and fatty foods can cause spots, but it is important to note that acne IS NOT the same as spots. Certain foods however, can cause inflammatory reactions which can worsen acne, but cannot cause it.

Stress Causes Acne

Again, this myth is busted. Stress does not cause acne, however research has shown that people who are stressed are often prescribed certain prescription or RX drugs to treat stress, and acne is one of the side effects of such drugs. So although stress does not cause acne, the medication to combat stress can. Not to say that stress never causes acne though, as stress can cause all sorts of strange reactions within the body so it is possible, but not common.

The Sun Helps Fight Acne

Wrong again. The sun does not help to fight acne. If there is a breakout of lesions on the face, the sun may help to dry out the lesions and heal them quicker in the short term, but you must remember that acne is caused by bacteria which will still be there so it won’t stop future outbreaks. Also, the warmth could even cause the bacteria to multiply and so although for the first day or two the acne may calm, it is likely to make the problem worse in the future, not to mention that it increases the risk of skin cancer.

You Must Wait For Acne To Treat Itself

No, no, no. Another load of rubbish. There are prescription medicines and non prescription Canada drugs specifically formulated for the treatment of acne, some natural, some chemical.

So there you have it, some of the most common myths about acne uncovered. If you are suffering from acne, take a look at the acne medications available and speak to your doctor about RX medications that you could obtain with a prescription.
